Join me on an immersion into the world of theatre with games, exercises, improvs, collective creation and scene study. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a newcomer looking to try out the stage, Playpen will offer a welcoming, supportive and expressive atmosphere for individual exploration and collaborative learning.
A typical 2-hour class will be structured as follows:
- Check in and housekeeping
- Warm up (vocal and physical)
- Theatre games and exercises
- Break
- Scene study, improv games, collective creation, ensemble work
- Reflection and discussion
We'll work with Caryl Churchill's play "Love and Information." Copies will be provided. We'll also develop our own short works. Depending on interest, we can plan a public outcome.

Andrew Sawyer / CV
I've been acting since I was ~11 and I've had ~8 years of stage training along with ~6 years of independent producing, whether it be directing, writing, or performing.
My intention is to hold space for what I believe to be the inherently healing and necessary nature of the theatre. I believe an actor's tools are a human's tools and I'd like to share them. Reach out with any questions you may have.
In the inimitable words of Calvin and Hobbes,
"Let's go exploring!"
