Pivot Art Society is a community arts club founded on the principle of Lila, a Sanskrit word meaning "divine play" — creation, instead of being an objective for achieving any purpose, is rather an outcome of the playful nature of the divine.

We create unconditioned, experimental and absurdist spaces for unwinding and re-finding ourselves via unfiltered expression. Film screenings, theatre, dance, visual exhibitions, dialogues and music are some of the artistic avenues we explore.

The majority of our programming is membership-based. Currently we are running a drama club, Playpen, with other projects in the works. Send an email to pivot.art.society@gmail.com for invitations to our upcoming programming or learn more.

Purposes

  1. To provide opportunities for community members to develop and practice artistic skills through classes, workshops, and collaborative learning.
  2. To produce, present, and curate artistic works for the benefit of the community.
  3. To foster an inclusive and accessible environment for participation in the arts.
  4. To promote the value of art as a means of community connection and enrichment.
  5. To do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above purposes.
